In 1870 a lawyer named George Graham Vest stood up in a Missouri courtroom to argue a case about a foxhound called Old Drum, and his closing speech is the reason the case is still remembered.
"The one absolutely unselfish friend that a man can have in this selfish world, the one that never deserts him, the one that never proves ungrateful or treacherous, is the dog."
The whole speech is set in typewriter type under the heading Eulogy of the Dog, with the date and Warrensburg, Missouri noted at the foot. It's a lot of words, and every one of them is worth reading on a hard day. A thoughtful gift for someone who has lost a dog, or for a dog lover's study or hallway.
Printed on premium lustre paper with a professional finish, and carefully packaged to arrive in perfect condition.
Choose a white, black or vintage background, in five sizes, unframed or in a sleek black frame.
Perfect for:
- Remembering a much-loved dog
- Pet sympathy gifts
- Dog lovers and dog owners
