When Lord Byron's Newfoundland, Boatswain, died in 1808, Byron built him a monument at Newstead Abbey, and these words are carved on it, original spelling and all.
"Beauty without Vanity, Strength without Insolence, Courage without Ferosity, and all the virtues of Man without his Vices."
The lines are set in typewriter type on an aged cream page, under the heading Epitaph to a Dog, inside a fine double border with a small flourish at the top. Lord Byron's name sits at the foot. It's a lovely way to remember a dog who was the best of the family, and a kind gift for a friend who has just lost theirs.
Printed on premium lustre paper with a professional finish, and carefully packaged to arrive in perfect condition.
Choose from five sizes, unframed or in a sleek black frame.
Perfect for:
- Remembering a much-loved dog
- Pet sympathy gifts
- Dog lovers and dog walkers
- Byron fans and book lovers
